Therapist for Bay Area Adults

Therapy FAQs & Pricing

The most effective therapy happens when your sessions align with both your goals and your lifestyle.

Finding the right therapist for YOU makes all the difference

I support clients from a variety of backgrounds in the Bay Area, and there’s usually a golden thread that flows through that ties them together. No matter what type of work they do in the world, they are looked up to and relied upon by both their coworkers and clients. They are often seen as the “heart” behind the team. At their core, they are truly a “people person” who cares deeply about those around them.

My clients are kind hearted, funny (even if they think they’re not), compassionate, caring, and high-functioning individuals. They believe in self-work. They believe in the transformations that therapy provides.

Therapy with me is about so much more than just “fixing” what currently feels challenging.

My goal is to help you create a life where you feel fully self-reliant, safe, and calm. We’ll work together to help you process the painful memories of the past, while also creating more capacity to work through the current challenges. If that sounds like what you’re looking for, let’s create that kind of life for you.

Brainspotting intensives and somatic therapy in the East Bay to help you process pain, reset your nervous system & create lasting change.

BRAINSPOTTING

Brainspotting (BSP) is a type of therapy that uses fixed eye positions to access and process emotional or physical trauma. It’s a non-invasive, medication-free reset for your limbic system — the part of the brain that holds emotional and survival responses long after an experience has passed. Brainspotting can help you release stuck patterns, regulate your system, and create space for lasting change.

PSYCHOTHERAPY

Trauma shows up differently for everyone, and so does the way we learn to cope with stress, fear, and the weight of past experiences. Psychotherapy gives you a consistent space to slow down, notice what’s happening beneath the surface, and begin making sense of old patterns that no longer serve you. It is a free-form conversation centered around a thread of past, present and future self exploration.

BRAINSPOTTING INTENSIVES

The benefits of a Brainspotting Intensive:

  • Accelerated Healing:
Brainspotting Intensives allow you to go deeper, faster. Unlike traditional weekly therapy, Brainspotting Intensives allow you to quickly focus in on the specific thought/feeling/behavior that you want to address for each session.

  • Flexibility in Scheduling Sessions:
Unlike traditional therapy (which requires a regular weekly time commitment), Brainspotting Intensives allow you to schedule sessions around your own schedule and timeline. You can choose a half day, full day, or schedule individual intensives over a period of time.

  • Deeper Processing:

Brainspotting taps into the limbic system and brain stem, accessing and processing trauma that may be difficult to reach with traditional talk therapy.

  • A Non-Verbal Approach:

It doesn't require extensive verbal processing, which can be beneficial for individuals who struggle to articulate their experiences.

  • Body-Mind Connection:

It integrates body-based sensations with emotional processing, supporting a holistic approach to healing.

Brainspotting is a great option for someone looking to…

  • Level up their mental health, experience greater clarity and calm in everyday life, and believe in the inherent power of the body and brain to heal itself

  • Step outside of the weekly therapy model and explore a more flexible approach to therapy

  • Experience a deeper level of change — and is highly motivated to do so, especially after multiple addiction or mental health relapses, where insight and urgency often align

  • Experience a focused, powerful alternative to long-term talk therapy

How much does a Brainspotting Intensive cost?

Intensives are two hours long and can be purchased in packs (4-pack, 6-pack or 8-packs). A 4-pack of sessions starts at $2,000.

A 4-pack of sessions is 8 hours of total therapy time, a 6-pack is 12 hours of total therapy time, and an 8-pack is 16 hours of total therapy time.

With Intensives, you have the option of scheduling individual half-day sessions (4 hours of therapy time in one day with a lunch break), or scheduling out the intensives over a longer period of time. This is a great option for someone wanting more flexibility around scheduling out their sessions.

Brainspotting (BSP) FAQs

  • Brainspotting can be effective for a wide range of challenges — both the big, obvious traumas and the quieter, everyday struggles that still weigh you down. Many clients use it to process unresolved trauma or emotionally charged experiences, while others come in seeking relief from anxiety, depression, or grief. It can also be a powerful tool for addressing shame, self-worth, relationship struggles, and even performance issues at work or in creative pursuits.

  • No, definitely not. One of the most powerful parts of Brainspotting is that you don’t have to retell your story for it to be effective. Instead of focusing on the narrative, we focus on what your body is holding — the tension, the stuck places, the emotional charge that lingers long after an experience. That means you can get relief without rehashing painful memories in detail. For many people, this feels safer and less exhausting than traditional talk therapy. You’re always in control of what you choose to share, and the process works even when words aren’t part of it.

  • Every nervous system is different, so the timeline looks a little different for each person. Some clients notice shifts after just one session — things feel lighter, sleep comes easier, or a situation that used to feel overwhelming suddenly feels more manageable. For others, the changes are more gradual, showing up over a few weeks as less reactivity, fewer spirals, and more calm in daily life.

  • Psychotherapy is your steady, week-to-week space. Through conversation, reflection, and gentle challenges, you build self-awareness, new language for your experiences, and the emotional muscle to handle life with more ease. It’s like laying the foundation — consistent support that strengthens you over time.

  • Brainspotting and EMDR are both considered “bottom-up” approaches — meaning they work with the brain and body directly, instead of only through talking. The main difference is that EMDR follows a structured, protocol-driven process, while Brainspotting is more flexible and attuned to what your nervous system is showing in the moment.

With Brainspotting, we use eye position to locate where your body is holding trauma or stress, and then give your system the time and space it needs to process and release. There’s no set script or required pace — it’s led by your experience, not by me. Many clients find this gentler and less overwhelming, especially if they don’t want to rehash the details of their past. Both methods can be effective, but Brainspotting often feels more intuitive and adaptable to each person’s unique needs.

  • That’s a more common experience than you might think, and it doesn’t mean you’re “beyond help.” Many people come to me after months or years of talk therapy feeling like they’ve hit a wall — they have insight but still feel stuck, anxious, or weighed down by old patterns.

Brainspotting works differently because it doesn’t rely on talking through every detail of your past. Instead, it goes straight to the nervous system — the place where trauma, stress, and overwhelm are stored. By working with your body’s natural ability to process and release, Brainspotting often brings relief in areas where traditional therapy couldn’t reach. If you’ve felt frustrated or discouraged before, this can be a way to finally experience the kind of change you’ve been hoping for.

  • Intensives are ideal if you’re highly motivated for change, have a limited schedule, or feel like weekly therapy hasn’t gone deep enough. They’re also a great fit if you’re moving through a major life transition, navigating recovery, or simply want a reset without committing to long-term weekly sessions.

  • Not at all. Intensives are designed to move at the pace your nervous system can handle. You’ll have breaks built in, plenty of grounding tools, and my support the entire time. Most clients describe the experience as deeply focused but surprisingly gentle.

  • Many people leave Intensives feeling lighter, clearer, and more connected to themselves. You may notice less reactivity, more calm, and a stronger sense of choice in your relationships and daily life. While results vary, most clients describe Intensives as creating shifts that would have taken much longer in weekly therapy alone.

What to Expect with Weekly Psychotherapy:

Weekly therapy is your dedicated time to pause, reflect, and recalibrate. Each 50-minute session gives you space to explore what’s happening beneath the surface — without judgment or pressure. Our work is collaborative and client-led, meaning you set the pace while I help guide the process with warmth, honesty, and curiosity. Some weeks may feel like unlocking deep patterns, while others might bring simple relief in being heard and held. Over time, these consistent sessions create a strong foundation of self-awareness, emotional tolerance, and self-acceptance that supports growth in every part of your life.

Psychotherapy FAQs

  • I work with adults and transitional-age youth (18–24) who are ready to invest in their own growth. Many of my clients are first responders, medical professionals, therapists, leaders in tech, or high-achieving women, femmes, and queer or gender non-binary folks navigating stress, burnout, and complex life transitions. My practice is fully affirming and identity-honoring — this is a space where all parts of who you are are welcome.

  • For Psychotherapy sessions, at the start, yes — weekly sessions are the best way to build momentum and create real change. Consistency helps us establish trust, get beneath the surface faster, and keep the progress going week after week. Once you feel more grounded and the timing feels clinically appropriate, we can shift to bi-weekly or monthly sessions. Think of weekly therapy as laying a strong foundation — once it’s solid, we can build from there at a pace that fits your needs.

For Brainspotting intensives, these are often not weekly and are more flexible with scheduling.

  • Yes — decades of research show that psychotherapy is one of the most effective ways to create real, lasting change in how you think, feel, and relate to others. But the biggest factor isn’t the specific “type” of therapy — it’s the relationship you build with your therapist. When you feel safe, understood, and supported, that’s when breakthroughs happen.

In my practice, weekly therapy sessions create the consistency needed to uncover patterns, build self-awareness, and develop the tools to move forward. The work we do together is always tailored to your needs — whether you’re navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship struggles, or life transitions. Over time, therapy can help you feel steadier, more connected, and more confident in yourself and your choices.

  • Not at all. While talking is part of it, psychotherapy is really about noticing patterns, practicing new ways of responding, and building emotional strength over time. Some weeks you’ll process big things, and other weeks might feel quieter — but each session adds to the momentum of your growth.

  • Sometimes therapy stirs things up, especially when you’re touching on emotions you’ve avoided. But the goal is never to overwhelm you — it’s to move at a pace that feels safe and steady. Over time, most people notice that the hard moments lead to breakthroughs and more lasting relief.

  • That’s completely normal. You don’t have to show up with a plan for your sessions — in fact, some of the most powerful insights come from the moments when you aren’t sure what to talk about. Therapy works best when you bring your real self, even if that self feels scattered or stuck.

  • There’s no one-size-fits-all answer. Some clients come in with a specific goal and find a few months of work to be deeply helpful. Others are navigating more complex patterns or histories and prefer longer-term support. We’ll regularly check in on your goals and progress together to make sure therapy continues to feel meaningful and aligned.

  • Friends can listen and support, but therapy is a different kind of relationship. It’s structured, confidential, and designed to help you go deeper — into patterns, wounds, and possibilities you might not even notice on your own. It’s support without judgment, strings, or expectations.

  • Many of my clients felt stuck in previous therapy. My approach is warm but direct — I don’t just sit back and nod. I’ll gently call out patterns I notice, ask questions that make you think differently, and create a space that feels collaborative and alive instead of repetitive.

  • Our first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and set the tone for how we’ll work together. I’ll invite you to share what’s bringing you to therapy and what you’d like to feel or experience differently. You’ll also have space to ask me questions about my style, background, or anything that will help you feel more comfortable. From there, we’ll create a plan that feels manageable and grounded, always at your pace. Most clients leave the first session feeling a sense of relief just from having a safe place to exhale and be fully heard.

  • Like many seasoned professional therapists I don’t work directly with insurance companies. This allows me to keep our work completely confidential and free from the limitations insurance often places on the type or length of treatment.

  • Sessions are typically 50 minutes, with some options for longer sessions or intensives. I ask for at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations with less than 48 hours’ notice, no-shows, or late arrivals may be charged the full session fee. If you’re running late, please text me as soon as possible — sessions will still end at the scheduled time. Emergencies are always taken into account, but repeated last-minute cancellations may mean we revisit your readiness for ongoing therapy.

Whether you're navigating trauma, relapse, or feeling stuck in old patterns, you’ll find a space here that’s honest, warm, and deeply transformational.
