Brainspotting Intensive Therapy for Adults in the Bay Area

Brainspotting Extended Sessions & Intensives

Accelerated healing that goes deep

Brainspotting Extended Sessions and Intensives are a gentle, powerful way to help your nervous system heal.

This isn’t about reliving trauma.

It’s a non-invasive, medication-free reset for your limbic system, the part of the brain that holds emotional and survival responses long after an experience has passed.

Through precise attunement and brain-body processing, Brainspotting can help you release stuck patterns, regulate your system, and create space for lasting change.

Extended Sessions and Intensives allow you to experience greater results without the long-term commitment

Brainspotting Extended Sessions and Intensives are designed for those that don’t want to spend months talking through their struggles in weekly sessions. By working in longer, focused blocks of time, you give your nervous system the space it needs to access, release, and reset at a deeper level.

This format is efficient and powerful compared to traditional talk therapy which can sometimes take longer to provide noticeable change. Clients report relief and internal shifts within just a few sessions, often experienced as new insights, a calmer energy, and a sense of momentum.

Extended sessions and Intensives work directly with the root of what’s been keeping you stuck. Whether you’re navigating burnout, recovery, relationship stress, or the weight of old trauma, you walk away with more clarity, stronger self-trust, and a felt sense of calm that carries into your daily life — all without the commitment of weekly therapy.

The Benefits of Brainspotting Extended Sessions and Intensives

Accelerated Healing:
Brainspotting Extended Sessions and Intensives allow you to go deeper, faster. Unlike traditional weekly therapy, they allow you to quickly focus in on the specific thought/feeling/behavior that you want to address for each session.

Flexibility in Scheduling Sessions:
Unlike traditional therapy (which requires a regular weekly time commitment), Extended Sessions and Intensives allow you to schedule therapy around your own schedule and timeline. You can choose 2 hour extended sessions for a period of weeks or a half-day 4-hour intensives.

Deeper Processing:
Brainspotting taps into the limbic system and brain stem, accessing and processing trauma that may be difficult to reach with traditional talk therapy.

A non-Verbal Approach:
Brainspotting doesn't require extensive verbal processing, which can be beneficial for individuals who struggle to articulate their experiences.

Body-Mind Connection:
Brainspotting integrates body-based sensations with emotional processing, supporting a comprehensive approach to healing.

What to expect when booking a Brainspotting Extended Session or Intensive:

Initial consultation and assessment
The process begins with either a free consultation as a new client to discuss your needs and determine if Brainspotting is the right fit, or discussing the possibly of adding Brainspotting to talk therapy sessions as an existing client.

Pre-Extended Session or Intensive preparation
A 90-minute pre-intensive session may be scheduled before the intensive itself. This session focuses on setting the stage, clarifying your goals, completing a Brainspotting intake, and selecting tailored coping skills to prepare for potentially intense emotional experiences during the intensive.

The Brainspotting Extended Session (90 minutes - 2 hours) or Intensive (4 hour half-day):

  • Setting the focus: The intensive begins with checking in and setting a specific focus for the session (e.g., a particular thought, feeling, or behavior you want to address).

  • Finding the brainspot: I’ll help you guide your gaze with a pointer while you pay attention to any thoughts, emotions, or physical sensations that arise. You communicate when you feel the strongest physical or emotional response, and that eye position becomes the "brainspot".

  • Processing: You hold your gaze on the brainspot and allow your thoughts, emotions, and memories to surface. During the entire session, I ensure to provide a safe and supportive space, and you always have the ability to communicate if you need a break.

  • Integration and closing: At the end of each session, you'll discuss your experience, reflect on any insights gained, and engage in techniques like deep breathing or visualization to help you feel grounded.

Post-intensive care:
A 90-minute follow-up/check in session is typically scheduled after 5 Extended Sessions or 1-2 weeks after an Intensive. We'll discuss shifts and changes, address any lingering issues, and create a plan to incorporate new insights into your daily life.

Ongoing integration and follow-up:
The insights and healing gained from the intensive can be integrated into your life moving forward. We can also discuss whether further sessions, potentially combining Brainspotting with other therapies, would be beneficial.

Investment Cost:
Brainspotting Extended Sessions begin at $375 for 90 minutes. Half -Day Intensives begin at $1000 for 4 hours including a midway break.

Brainspotting Half-Day Intensives: Deep Work in Less Time on Your Schedule

A Brainspotting Half-Day Intensive is a 4-hour experience with a built in break midway, scheduled based on your needs, emotional capacity, and motivation. These can be used on their own or alongside weekly therapy. More than one Half-Day Intensive may be recommended for deeper work.

Why Choose a Half-Day Intensive?
Lower Investment, Quicker Return: Instead of committing to weekly sessions for 6–12 months (an investment of approximately $6,500–$13,000), Half-Day Intensives offer accelerated progress at a lower investment. Intensive rates start at $1,000, often yielding tangible results in just one session.

Priority Scheduling Around Your Needs: You can choose to schedule multiple Half-Day Intensive sessions weekly, monthly, quarterly, or as needed - ideal for those needing scheduling flexibility or craving deeper, faster healing.

*At this time, half-day intensives are offered on Tuesdays*

Brainspotting (BSP) FAQs

  • Psychotherapy is your steady, week-to-week space. Through conversation, reflection, and gentle challenges, you build self-awareness, new language for your experiences, and the emotional muscle to handle life with more ease. It’s like laying the foundation — consistent support that strengthens you over time.

  • Brainspotting and EMDR are both considered “bottom-up” approaches — meaning they work with the brain and body directly, instead of only through talking. The main difference is that EMDR follows a structured, protocol-driven process, while Brainspotting is more flexible and attuned to what your nervous system is showing in the moment.

With Brainspotting, we use eye position to locate where your body is holding trauma or stress, and then give your system the time and space it needs to process and release. There’s no set script or required pace — it’s led by your experience, not by me. Many clients find this gentler and less overwhelming, especially if they don’t want to rehash the details of their past. Both methods can be effective, but Brainspotting often feels more intuitive and adaptable to each person’s unique needs.

  • That’s a more common experience than you might think, and it doesn’t mean you’re “beyond help.” Many people come to me after months or years of talk therapy feeling like they’ve hit a wall — they have insight but still feel stuck, anxious, or weighed down by old patterns.

Brainspotting works differently because it doesn’t rely on talking through every detail of your past. Instead, it goes straight to the nervous system — the place where trauma, stress, and overwhelm are stored. By working with your body’s natural ability to process and release, Brainspotting often brings relief in areas where traditional therapy couldn’t reach. If you’ve felt frustrated or discouraged before, this can be a way to finally experience the kind of change you’ve been hoping for.

  • Every nervous system is different, so the timeline looks a little different for each person. Some clients notice shifts after just one session — things feel lighter, sleep comes easier, or a situation that used to feel overwhelming suddenly feels more manageable. For others, the changes are more gradual, showing up over a few weeks as less reactivity, fewer spirals, and more calm in daily life.

  • Brainspotting can be effective for a wide range of challenges — both the big, obvious traumas and the quieter, everyday struggles that still weigh you down. Many clients use it to process unresolved trauma or emotionally charged experiences, while others come in seeking relief from anxiety, depression, or grief. It can also be a powerful tool for addressing shame, self-worth, relationship struggles, and even performance issues at work or in creative pursuits.

  • Payment is due in full upon confirming your intensive schedule. Please contact me directly and we can work together to put the perfect package in place to suit your unique needs.

  • Intensives are ideal if you’re highly motivated for change, have a limited schedule, or feel like weekly therapy hasn’t gone deep enough. They’re also a great fit if you’re moving through a major life transition, navigating recovery, or simply want a reset without committing to long-term weekly sessions.

  • Not at all. Intensives are designed to move at the pace your nervous system can handle. You’ll have breaks built in, plenty of grounding tools, and my support the entire time. Most clients describe the experience as deeply focused but surprisingly gentle.

  • Many people leave Intensives feeling lighter, clearer, and more connected to themselves. You may notice less reactivity, more calm, and a stronger sense of choice in your relationships and daily life. While results vary, most clients describe Intensives as creating shifts that would have taken much longer in weekly therapy alone.

  • No, definitely not. One of the most powerful parts of Brainspotting is that you don’t have to retell your story for it to be effective. Instead of focusing on the narrative, we focus on what your body is holding — the tension, the stuck places, the emotional charge that lingers long after an experience. That means you can get relief without rehashing painful memories in detail. For many people, this feels safer and less exhausting than traditional talk therapy. You’re always in control of what you choose to share, and the process works even when words aren’t part of it.

  • I'm highly adaptable and can work with you either way depending on your needs - call me and we'll figure it out together.

  • Great question - in addition to being one of the most powerful, lasting trauma interventions out there today, Brainspotting helps creatives and performers overcome blocks by addressing underlying traumas and emotional wounds stored in the brain and body, which manifest as mental or performance anxiety. Processing these experiences can release creative blocks and enable enhanced focus, confidence, and authentic artistic expression, leading to more fluid artistic processes and higher levels of performance in various fields.
